Published by Dr. Gloria Cirino Valdez-Gardea, professor and researcher of the Center for North American Studies at El Colegio de Sonora, the text contains eight papers on various disciplines, among which are: "Migration and Urbanization in Northwest Mexico's Border Cities" Jesus Angel Enriquez Acosta, "Tijuana: Border, Migration, and Gated Communities" Brisa Violeta Carrasco Gallegos, "Imaginary and Migration" Eloy Méndez and Isabel Rodriguez.
The content of the magazine is a product of the first International Migration and Migrant Children organized by THE COLSON and Migrant Children Seminar in May 2007. This number is an attempt to contribute to knowledge of migration from the point of view of the actors involved in it, as women and children, in addition to analyzing the dynamics and practices that are developing in the traditional border areas which have emerged around them as the runner Altar-El Sasabe.
This publication will be presented at the Research Centre on 8 April this year, and will feature comments from Drs Isabel Ortega (CIAD) and Manuela Guillen Lúgico. Will serve as moderator Dr. Alvaro Bracamonte Sierra.

In 2009, as data of the State Program of Care for Migrant Children were seen in the shelters they menores.De 626 7 000 6 000 349 were treated for the first time, and 1.277 were reincidentes.Estos children were treated in the program modules located in the communities Sonora.En border of San Luis Rio Colorado, there were 226 for the first time and repeat offenders under 62 in Nogales 5 000 054 and 972 for the first time in Agua Prieta recidivists and 069 thousand and 243 first offenders. Regarding gender distribution, the majority were male 5 000 520 and 829 of sex femenino.La difficult economic situation being experienced by hundreds of Mexican families, has led to increased participation the child in the migration process, especially children between 14 and 17 years of age. It has also led to the drop in the education system, as recently reported by the National Institute of Adult Education (INEA), who affi rm that 700 000 children and youth, left the primary and secondary schools in the 2009.No can we ignore the correlation between truancy and participation in international migration, especially when institutions that expel migrants traditionally those with the highest number of cases of school dropouts, such as Michoacan, Guanajuato, Oaxaca, Guerrero and Chiapas.Muchos of these young people leave school to join the work and help the family finances. This phenomenon, as it said the owner of the INEA, Juan de Dios Castro Muñoz, is linked to areas in Mexico where the rate of development is menor.El levels of education in Mexico is 33 million children, youth and adults who escribir.Es read or necessary to articulate the relationship between dropout and the minor's participation in international migration. In order to meet the research projects, dissemination and outreach on issues of migration taking place at El Colegio de Sonora, attended a meeting with federal investigators deputy Saut Fabiola Vazquez , on 20 February.
In order to meet the research projects, dissemination and outreach on issues of migration taking place at El Colegio de Sonora, attended a meeting with federal investigators deputy Saut Fabiola Vazquez , on 20 February.
The mayor of Veracruz, a member of the Commission on Population, Borders and Migration Affairs, held a talk with Dr. Gloria Cirino Valdez Gardea, professor and researcher at El Colegio de Sonora, who referred to the return Mexico of hundreds of families, due to anti-immigrant political and economic crisis in the neighboring country. The seminar also coordinator of permanent migrant children explained that in Sonora, for example, more than 2000 children and young people from the United States, members of these families have entered the basic education system in the 2009-2010 cycle.
Valdez Gardea also explained the importance of budget labels for studies of vulnerable groups like women and children, and he explained that following the strengthening of traditional crossing areas, the state of Sonora is the main protagonist for transit of villagers in search of international migration.
