In order to meet the research projects, dissemination and outreach on issues of migration taking place at El Colegio de Sonora, attended a meeting with federal investigators deputy Saut Fabiola Vazquez , on 20 February.

The mayor of Veracruz, a member of the Commission on Population, Borders and Migration Affairs, held a talk with Dr. Gloria Cirino Valdez Gardea, professor and researcher at El Colegio de Sonora, who referred to the return Mexico of hundreds of families, due to anti-immigrant political and economic crisis in the neighboring country. The seminar also coordinator of permanent migrant children explained that in Sonora, for example, more than 2000 children and young people from the United States, members of these families have entered the basic education system in the 2009-2010 cycle.

Valdez Gardea also explained the importance of budget labels for studies of vulnerable groups like women and children, and he explained that following the strengthening of traditional crossing areas, the state of Sonora is the main protagonist for transit of villagers in search of international migration.
